Assistantship Application for Fall 2025 (114-1)
Information
- Please submit the application form (see attachment below) with applicant and advisor's signature and a photocopy of passbook (the post office) to the department office before July 31, 2025 (Thur).
- According to resolution of 104-1 Academic Committee Meeting, department will terminate recipient's qualification for application once (next semester) if recipient disclaims scholarship/assistantship (exception of special circumstances) or recipient's poor performance.
- The assistantship recipient should apply for work permit and submit photocopy with ARC to the department office.
Qualification
- Graduate students who have officially enrolled.
- Ph.D. students in their fourth or fifth year must have published at least one paper in an international academic journal indexed by SCI, either as the first author or as the second author (with their advisor as the first author), during their period of study.
- Those who hold full-time positions either on or off campus, or who receive other scholarships or subsidies exceeding the total amount of this scholarship, are not eligible to apply.
- A student who concurrently serves as a research assistant shall be entitled to two research subsidies at most at the same time.

Note
- Teaching Assistant (TA): learning-oriented assistan; Administrative Assistant (AA): employee-based assistant
- Most courses in Bachelor program are taught in Chinese, so teaching assistant (TA) should have basic Chinese language skill. If your advisor requests you to apply for TA, the language skill is unnecessary.
- Administrative assistant will work in the office, so assistant shall be proficient in Chinese language skill.
STEPS
- Prepare photocopy of your Post Office passbook and ARC
- Fill in Google form and upload required documents https://forms.gle/x5k2QDzUSRo73mXf6
- Print out the completed pages BEFORE you click submit the form. (A right-click anywhere on the webpage and select "Print" from the context menu or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+P)
- Ask advisor to sign it for an approval, and then submit it to the department office.
