1. Date

• The required documents shall be delivered to department office for application 1.5 months before the scheduled degree examination. The deadline for degree examination application is July 20, 2026. Students must fill in the online application and submit the forms to the department office at least 1.5 months in advance for the first review by the Academic Council.

• Student must complete oral examination, and the oral examination grade shall be submitted to Registrar Division before July 31, 2026.

2. Application

• Fill in and print out defense application form (http://campus4.ncku.edu.tw/wwwmenu/program/mou/). The list of defense committee members is not required for application.
• Upload thesis at perform plagiarism detection for thesis originality on NCKU Turnitin and print out the result (see attachment 2-2). Fill in a report about the result of plagiarism detection.

(5) Certificate of Passing PhD Qualifying Examination

(7) Proof of paper publication in journal(s)

(8) Primary draft thesis/dissertation

The candidate shall make a public presentation of the dissertation before the examination.

♦ NCKU shall require that the title of a thesis or dissertation should be presented in both Chinese and English on the outside front cover and that an English abstract should be provided if the abstract is written in Chinese.
