Research Scholarship and Bursary Award for Overseas Graduate Students

In order to assist Taiwan’s overseas graduate students to successfully complete their Master's or Ph.D. degrees in science, engineering or related fields in Taiwan and encourage them to work in Taiwan after graduation, the CTCI Foundation will continue to award the Research Scholarship for Overseas Students. The CTCI Foundation will also provide the Bursary Award for Overseas Students with economic difficulties.

Scholarships Quota and Amount

• The Research Scholarship for Overseas Students: 1; NT$150,000 and a certificate of merit per recipient.
• The Bursary Award for Overseas Students: 1; NT$100,000 per recipient.

Overseas graduate students currently enrolled in master or doctoral courses of any of the 110 departments/institutes of science and engineering of National Taiwan University, National Tsing-Hua University, National Cheng-Kung University, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, National Taiwan Normal University, National Central University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, National Taipei University of Technology.

※ Bursary Award for Overseas Students

Overseas graduate students currently enrolled in master or doctoral courses of any of the 110 departments/institutes of science and engineering of National Taiwan University, National Tsing-Hua University, National Cheng-Kung University, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, National Taiwan Normal University, National Central University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, National Taipei University of Technology. (For the extensiveness of resource allocation reason, Bursary Award are only awarded once and will not be given repeatedly to previous recipients.)

Required Documents for Department

Research Scholarship for Overseas Graduate Students

1. A copy of student ID card
2. Original transcript of academic records for each institutional semester (Chinese or English)
3. Autobiography (Chinese or English)
4. One recommendation letter from advisors
5. Research abstracts and preliminary results
6. Description of accomplishments
7. Other support documents

Bursary Award for Overseas Students

1. List of grants/scholarships received from ROC (Taiwan) government or school
2. A comprehensive outline detailing your personal financial requirements (with a minimum of 150 words), along with a brief list statement of income and expenses
3. A copy of student ID card
4. Original transcript of academic records for each institutional semester (Chinese or English)
5. Autobiography (Chinese or English)
6. One recommendation letter from advisor (Advisor needs to justify the necessity of the bursary.)

Application Procedure
All candidates will be recommended by individual departments/institutes, and the universities will compile and mail the list of recommended candidates and their hardcopy documents to CTCI Foundation.
